Bear Grylls Knife in Review

Gerber knives are well-known for making outstanding tools which are savvy, reliable, and of top quality. These are useful for everyday tasks like cutting and slicing, and are also for hunting and outdoor gears. Gerber makes reliable crafted, tough, and heavy-duty knives. The majority of its products have been innovated to include other tools like personal L.E.D. lighting, and backpack hydration. It doesn't mean they're moving away from producing world-class knives. In fact, they recently released a new product called Bear Grylls knife.

Bear Grylls knife is part of Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Series. The knife comes with an overall length of 10 inches and weighs about 11.2 to 14.72 ounce. Like many other knives in the catalogue, Bear Grylls knife is stuffed with features you won't find in any other fixed blade knife.  Much like its namesake, these knives are built to endure the toughest environment.

The real life Bear Grylls is a former British SAS, and host of Discovery Channel's Man Vs. Wild.

Many survival knives are generally in fixed blade style. These are curved with smooth blade great for slicing through animal flesh. For campers, they usually are used for cutting sticks and slicing or opening up food items.

Survival tools ought to have well-designed, comfortable handles. The Bear Grylls knife comes with an ergonomic textured rubber grip for maximum comfort and minimized slippage. The handle also incorporates two holes to help you securely lash it on a stick, this is practical for  fishing as well as other hunting activities. The base of the handle has a stainless steel pommel you can use for pounding or hammering.

The knife's 4.75-inch serrated, high carbon, stainless steel drop point blade is ideal for cutting ropes as well as other fibrous materials, or for sawing through woods. The blade is constructed from full-tang construction for overall strength.

The Bear Grylls knife is built to offer you versatility that adventurers, backpackers, and hunters need in the wilderness. The military-grade nylon sheath is built from lightweight materials which are resistant for long-term use in harsh climates.

It's also full of impressive survival tools like a sharpening stone along with a fire starter rod locked into a water-tight holder. This rod, connected to the back of the blade, generates hot sparks when scraped against a rough surface and is perfect for starting a fire.

The sheath also includes a diamond blade sharpener. Even its lanyard cord includes a built-in emergency whistle.  Other features of the sheath are the Velcro closure, to help keep the knife secured, and a water resistant survival guide with land to air rescue instructions hidden into the back pocket.

Bear Grylls knives are helpful multi-functional tools for the outdoors and also for your houses.  Though stainless steel knives call for less frequent care than other knives, it needs to be treated with additional care to maintain high performance. With proper cleaning and storage practices, it is possible to extend their lives as well as hand them down to the next generation.
